Curzon Ashton FC is a large grassroots football club with nearly 50 teams. When the club was introduced to TeamFeePay, it quickly became clear the platform could offer significantly more than their existing solution. From payment automation to centralised safeguarding records and coach scheduling tools, the switch has given the club’s administrators confidence, clarity, and peace of mind.
Managing payments, safeguarding records, and day-to-day administration across nearly 50 teams was a significant undertaking. Before TeamFeePay, welfare information was held on paper, making it difficult to access quickly and consistently. Payment collection lacked automation, meaning the club had limited visibility over what was due, what had been collected, and how to follow up on missed payments. Coaches were managing training schedules separately, and the club had no single platform pulling everything together.
After an initial conversation with TeamFeePay made it clear the platform could offer considerably more than their current solution, Curzon Ashton FC made the switch — and were supported through the entire process end to end. All teams were set up on the platform with hands-on assistance, making what could have been a complex migration for a club of this size a straightforward experience.
Payment schedules were configured with an automatic seven-day retry built in, removing the need to manually follow up on failed payments. Safeguarding and welfare information was moved from paper records onto the platform, making it accessible on a need-to-know basis and giving the Welfare Officer confidence that sensitive data was being held securely. Coaches were also given access to set up and communicate training sessions directly through the platform, keeping teams informed without additional admin overhead.
The impact has been felt across every layer of the club. Administrators have real-time visibility over payment collection, with the retry process providing reassurance that outstanding fees will be followed up automatically. Safeguarding records are centralised, secure, and easy to access. Coaches can manage their own scheduling within the platform, reducing the communication burden on the committee.
Perhaps most significantly, parents feel confident too. As the club’s Welfare Officer notes: “Parents feel confident that information is being kept safe and only shared on a need-to-know basis.”
Liverpool FA oversees one of the country’s most active grassroots football communities, supporting 470 clubs, 3,400 teams, and over 33,000 players across the county. With a network of that scale, helping clubs operate efficiently, sustainably, and in line with safeguarding requirements is a significant undertaking. TeamFeePay has become a key partner in that mission — giving clubs the tools to manage their finances, administration, and compliance in one place, and freeing up the volunteers who make grassroots football possible.
FC Abbey Meads was formed in 2003 and has grown into a large grassroots club with over 40 teams. For years, collecting and reconciling payments meant a monthly ritual of bank statements, handwritten checklists, and chasing parents for missing subs.
