London Football School is one of London’s largest grassroots football organisations, with over 1,200 members, 42 affiliated teams across all age groups, and 15 teams in their own development league. Whiston Juniors Football Club, known affectionately as “The Field of Dreams,” is a Community Interest Company based in Whiston, Merseyside. Founded in 1985 through the amalgamation of a church team and Whiston Saint Nick’s by three dedicated managers, the club has grown into one of the area’s most established grassroots football organisations.
Today, the club boasts 17 teams and over 250 registered players. As an FA Charter Standard Development Club, Whiston Juniors FC has a proud history of developing talent with notable former players including Steven Gerrard, Joey Barton, David Nugent, and Phil Bolland, among many others who went on to turn professional.
Club Chairman Chris Hunt has been involved with the club for 27 years, three years as a player starting at just thirteen years old, and 24 years managing teams and serving as chairman. His wife, Becky Hunt, serves as Club Treasurer and Assistant Secretary, together forming the backbone of the club’s administration.
Cork PDA set up their football academy around four and a half years ago with the vision of running high-quality coaching outside of traditional club training. As the academy grew across five or six locations, managing registrations, monthly payments, coach safeguarding records, and parent communication became increasingly complex.
