What do I select as Business Type in Stripe?

Selecting the right profile for your club’s Stripe account.

This is an extremely important area for your club, as selecting an incorrect profile for your club can result in confusion and delays in your club receiving it’s funds from Stripe.

Please read below to best determine what profile your club is:

Registered Charity

If you are a registered Charity, you should have the following:

A official document from the Government/Charity Commission stating club address or an official charity number.

Limited Company

If you are a Limited Company, you should have the following:

A Company number with documentation from Companies House or documentation from HRMC with your company number/full business address.

Non-Profit

Stripe views “Non-Profit” as a Charity and by setting your club up as this you will be required to provide Stripe with official charity documentation.  In essence this is the same requirement as setting up as a Charity.

Sole Trader 

Select Sole Trader if:

You are not a Registered Charity (with official documentation).

You are not a Limited Company (with official documentation).
